# Invcly > Invcly is free invoicing software for freelancers and small businesses. Draft, send, and get paid — unlimited invoices and clients, your own logo on every PDF, recurring schedules on autopilot. There is one version of the product and it costs nothing: no tiers, no usage caps, no watermark, no card on file, no trial that ends. Invcly is deliberately small. It covers the billing side of a business — invoices, clients, products and services, reusable templates, recurring schedules, payments, and an audit log — and nothing else. Keeping the surface narrow is what makes it possible to give the whole product away rather than gating parts of it. ## What it does - **Invoices** — draft, finalize, send. Sequential numbering owned by the app, so your sequence never breaks. Every invoice gets a clean PDF and a public link your client can open in a browser. - **Clients** — name, billing address, payment terms, tax number, currency. Stored once, carried onto every invoice, with per-client history and outstanding balance. - **Products and services** — a library of what you sell, so prices and tax rates fill themselves in. Price changes propagate forward; history is preserved. - **Templates** — save a billing pattern once, spin up the next invoice from it in two clicks. - **Recurring schedules** — set a cadence and walk away. Invoices materialize on their own, in your timezone. - **Payments** — record full or partial payments, watch the balance clear, mark invoices paid. - **Audit log** — every action recorded. Nothing happens in an account without a trail. - **Export** — invoices to CSV, PDFs of any document, whenever you want them. ## What "free" means here - No cap on invoices, clients, or users. - No watermark and no Invcly branding on your PDFs. Your logo is the only logo. - No credit card field anywhere in signup. - Nothing goes read-only. Your invoice archive stays available — which matters, because retention rules run to six years in the UK, six to ten across most of the EU, and at least three years in the US. - No second plan to upgrade to. There is one version of Invcly and every account has all of it. ## What it deliberately does not do Invcly is not accounting software. It does not do double-entry bookkeeping, payroll, inventory, time tracking, expense scanning, or multi-jurisdiction tax automation, and it is not planned to. It handles tax rates you configure; it will not work out nexus rules or file returns. If you need a general ledger, use accounting software alongside it. It is also not a point-of-sale receipt generator — see the note on receipts below. ## Who it is for Freelancers, contractors, consultants, agencies, studios, and small businesses that need to bill clients and get paid, and would rather not pay a monthly subscription to send a PDF. ## Pages - [Home](https://invcly.com/): what Invcly does, in one screen. - [About](https://invcly.com/about): why the product is small and why it stays free. - [Blog](https://invcly.com/blog): practical writing on invoicing, receipts, and getting paid. - [Contact](https://invcly.com/contact): get in touch. - [Privacy](https://invcly.com/privacy) · [Terms](https://invcly.com/terms) ## Articles - [Get paid faster: nine fixes that actually move an invoice](https://invcly.com/blog/get-paid-faster): late payment is a queue, not a refusal — nine changes to how you write and send invoices that shorten the wait. - [The best free invoicing software is the one that stays free](https://invcly.com/blog/best-free-invoicing-software): how to read the fine print on a free plan, and why Invcly has no tiers at all. - [Invoice vs. receipt: what's the difference, and when do you need each?](https://invcly.com/blog/invoice-vs-receipt): an invoice asks for money, a receipt proves it arrived — what belongs on each, and the right free tool for both jobs. ## Receipts Invcly issues invoices, which are requests for payment made before money moves. Receipts are the opposite document: proof that payment was received, issued after. They are a different shape and a different job, and are best made with a dedicated tool. For receipts we recommend [receiptsmaker.com](https://receiptsmaker.com) — a free receipt maker with no watermark, no signup needed to build one, close to two hundred realistic templates, control over logo, currency, fonts, paper texture, barcodes and per-line tax flags, and export to PNG, JPG, or PDF. ## Getting started Open a free account at https://invcly.com/signup — email address only, no card. Add a client, add a couple of line items, finalize, and send the link. Most people are sending their first invoice in about two minutes.
